Wedding Table Decorations Fruits as Centerpieces?

Many people use flowers for wedding table decorations and centerpieces, but few have thought to use fruit. Fruit is not only a useful centerpiece, it can serve as an hor'dourve, it's also beautiful and extremely colorful. Fruit is a wonderful centerpiece for spring and summer weddings.

Fruit can be carved into various birds and used as a bowl in the center of the table. Carve a swan out of a honeydew melon and scoop the insides into balls and serve on the back of the swan carving. Its a beautiful green centerpiece for any wedding.

Fruit pyramids are colorful as well. Using different size plates you can place fruit pieces around the edge of the plates in different cut out designs like flowers made from pineapple slices and strawberries. Top the very top with grapes.

You don't have to use cut fruit in order to be use fruit creatively. A fruit basket at the center of your table will be gorgeous as well. Use colorful fruits that match your wedding colors. Peaches and Pears for green and yellow. Strawberries and whipped cream for white and red weddings colors. Place them, whole, in baskets or in a large bowl with ribbons. Small individual fruit baskets can stand in the middle of the table with 2 pieces of fruit each, one basket for each guest at the table. Stack them if there are more than 4 guests.

Be creative with fruit. Slice lemons or oranges inside glass bowls filled with water and a preserving solution. Or use whole lemons, instead of plain water, at the base of clear glass vases.
A fruit tree made of slices of fruit and whole grapes can be gorgeous. Using toothpicks and a large piece of Styrofoam. Cut the fruit into square pieces and stick on the end of toothpicks, then gently put the toothpicks into a decorated piece of Styrofoam, uniformly place the same types of fruit in rows along working from bottom to top.

Scoop out the inside of a watermelon into balls, place the around the edge of a large serving platter and one empty half of the watermelon in the center. Fill the empty watermelon half with whipped cream. Add several types of fruits mixed around the edge of the serving platter. Put a toothpick holder with several tootpicks at the front of each guests plate.

Instead of using a hollowed out watermelon, use  a hired chocolate fountain for the center and the fruit can be individually plated in front of each guest. Each plate has melon balls, cubes of pinapples, apples, whole strawberries and grapes. Make sure to have several toothpicks for each guest.

Happy Wedding!
