Vintage Wedding Table Decorations

Its time to put together an entire theme idea. Vintage weddings need vintage wedding decorations.

When decorating vintage style, its important to not overdo it. Temptations can be to add things which only clutter tables, not enhance the feeling. Vintage is all about small pretty lights, candelabras, diamonds, roses and champagne. Bright reds, blacks, silver, gold and navy blue are the colors to choose for vintage glamour wedding decorations.

Check the slideshow below, and you'll see how easy and cheap this theme can be. Decorate tables in white or red cloth, with a candelabra in the middle. Rented candelabras can cost 75$ per table, the ones on Amazon.com are in the $17-60 range. Amazon usually has a shipping discount as well.

At the base of the candelabra you can spread tiny glass beads which are shapped like teardrop diamonds. Sprinkle a few silk rose petals around that and use the champagne and wine glasses to decorate the rest of the table settings.

China and silverware should be in gold and silvers. You usually can rent this from the caterer.

Pillars and stands around the reception hall, or poles if in a tent, should be wound with tiny white lights.

Themed ceremonies will be noticable when the dresses are vintage bridesmaid dresses and a vintage bridal gown.
Vintage wedding shoes complete the ensemble.

Wedding Table Decorations Fruits as Centerpieces?

Many people use flowers for wedding table decorations and centerpieces, but few have thought to use fruit. Fruit is not only a useful centerpiece, it can serve as an hor'dourve, it's also beautiful and extremely colorful. Fruit is a wonderful centerpiece for spring and summer weddings.

Fruit can be carved into various birds and used as a bowl in the center of the table. Carve a swan out of a honeydew melon and scoop the insides into balls and serve on the back of the swan carving. Its a beautiful green centerpiece for any wedding.

Fruit pyramids are colorful as well. Using different size plates you can place fruit pieces around the edge of the plates in different cut out designs like flowers made from pineapple slices and strawberries. Top the very top with grapes.

You don't have to use cut fruit in order to be use fruit creatively. A fruit basket at the center of your table will be gorgeous as well. Use colorful fruits that match your wedding colors. Peaches and Pears for green and yellow. Strawberries and whipped cream for white and red weddings colors. Place them, whole, in baskets or in a large bowl with ribbons. Small individual fruit baskets can stand in the middle of the table with 2 pieces of fruit each, one basket for each guest at the table. Stack them if there are more than 4 guests.

Be creative with fruit. Slice lemons or oranges inside glass bowls filled with water and a preserving solution. Or use whole lemons, instead of plain water, at the base of clear glass vases.
A fruit tree made of slices of fruit and whole grapes can be gorgeous. Using toothpicks and a large piece of Styrofoam. Cut the fruit into square pieces and stick on the end of toothpicks, then gently put the toothpicks into a decorated piece of Styrofoam, uniformly place the same types of fruit in rows along working from bottom to top.

Scoop out the inside of a watermelon into balls, place the around the edge of a large serving platter and one empty half of the watermelon in the center. Fill the empty watermelon half with whipped cream. Add several types of fruits mixed around the edge of the serving platter. Put a toothpick holder with several tootpicks at the front of each guests plate.

Instead of using a hollowed out watermelon, use  a hired chocolate fountain for the center and the fruit can be individually plated in front of each guest. Each plate has melon balls, cubes of pinapples, apples, whole strawberries and grapes. Make sure to have several toothpicks for each guest.

Happy Wedding!

Wedding Table Decorations – Roses A Deeper Meaning than Beauty

When you make the choice to use roses in your wedding do you understand the meaning of the flowers or is it just their beauty which attracts you? If you learned the meaning behind different colors, amounts or blooms of roses, would you change your wedding theme? If you answered yes and the roses are ordered, you may want to skip the next few paragraphs!

Roses have different meanings depending on the bloom, color and amount. For instance red roses have one meaning while white have another. A red rose bud has a different meaning than a red rose in bloom. Two different colors of roses have a unique meaning as does two of the same color. You can find out more at Valentines Roses - Rose Colors and Traditional Rose Meanings.

Flower centerpieces are a beautiful way of decorating the tables at your wedding. Small delicate flower arrangements are the way to go with small tables, while larger, robust long stemmed roses would be the perfect decoration for the bridal table. Add Baby's Breath and Fern Stems for truly unrivaled arrangements.

Float rose petals in rose water with luxurious rocks or beads. White faux pearls are the perfect accessory for red roses.

White and red rose petals mixed and sprinkled on the table signify purity and passion. Keep the petals in the center of the table so as not to interfere with the food plates.

Make small potted plants for wedding guests to take home as wedding favors. Use the potted plants in the center of the tables as centerpieces with the names of each guest on the pots.

Roses can be dyed to match your wedding colors. Ask your local florist.

Whichever colors of roses you use, the important part is creating the perfect wedding table decorations that include your roses theme.

Wedding Table Decorations - Candles DIY style

When decorating the tables for your wedding you can be as creative as you want. I've always loved the idea of candle and water for wedding table decorations

1) Small floating candles in clear glass bowls of water. Add food coloring to the water to match the colors of your wedding. For example float white candles with pink rose petals in black water.

2) Alternating small and large candles in your wedding colors on a large glass candle tray or dinner plate.

3) Glass blows stacked together with flowers in water in the bottom bowl and the top bowl floating candles.

4) Lanterns which use votive candles are an especially classy centerpiece for antique or elegant weddings

5) Fill gardening pots or flower vases with sand and arrange candles inside the pots to whichever height you wish. Paint the outside of the pots or decorate them with beading.

6) Use a white dinner plate with colored candles, drip wax on the plate in designs. Place unused candles on the plate centerpiece.

Do it yourself wedding table decorations are the inexpensive way to make your wedding centerpieces look exactly as you want them.
